Built in the USA during the years when AMF owned Harley-Davidson, the Roadmaster was AMF’s answer to the moped craze of the late 1970s.
While it wasn't manufactured by Harley-Davidson itself, it came from the same AMF corporate era that has become such a recognizable chapter in Harley history.
And this thing is seriously unique.
It uses a 48cc air-cooled two-stroke McCulloch single-cylinder engine mounted over the rear wheel.
Instead of a conventional transmission, the engine uses a friction-drive system to power the rear tire, along with an automatic centrifugal clutch and pedal starting system.
